Whoops, another big stretch of days. Let me try to summarize.
We had left Håltebyn and my brother behind, to head directly to Karlstad, a city on the north side of the giant Vänern lake. Here we met up with M, a friend of Federica's, who was coming from Stockholm by train. We had some fika there and then headed to a farm stay by the lake away from the city. And so with the three of us we camped two nights in Lindegård. It's a fantastic little place, of course run by a migrated Dutch family (unbeknownst to us beforehand). With the help of work-awayers there is a little campsite with self-built outhouse, outdoor shower and even a sauna cart. We had a fantastic time by just camping by itself.
After we had dropped Federica's friend back at the train station we started an arc up, to get a little bit further north. So we spent about a week with driving a little, hiking or biking, swimming in a lake or river and camping wild. To mix it up we once rented a canoe for a day to pedal down a river. We found the ease of camping everything fantastic, just chilling around the van parked in the middle of the nowhere was very relaxing. We didn't it make far north at all in the end, as we just weren't willing to do full days of driving. But we are certain we will come back in the future to explore more of rural Sweden.
In the city of Arboga we then had another appointment, we met with an old friend of mine from university, with their partner, R&E. We were fed waffles and went hiking afterwards, with a mandatory swim in the lake. At night we drove on to Stockholm, where we parked outside the city for three days. From there we spent a fully packed day seeing Stockholm and we met with Federica's friend again.
By now our booked ferry trip is approaching. We've headed to the port by Kapsellkär, where we first spent the day biking around. This ferry is overnight again, and this time we're treating ourselves to an actual cabin!
